Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge is slowly confirming his true identity as a generic shounen in disguise. The show had a vibrant and soothing vibe, but that feeling is slowly fading away and letting room to a much more traditional shounen. We had the pointless school student scene at the beginning, followed by the ecchi and finally the action. It is now already pretty clear that in about one episode in two there will be a new, stronger enemy each time until the end of the season.
I don’t particularly dislike generic shounen, but they are really dull to blog as everything can be already guessed in the story. Now that I’m aware that this show is one of “them” and can already know that every single inconsistencies or stupid action in the show will never be explained and that I shouldn’t even bother questioning the logic of the universe. Stupid stuff will happen, things which have no reason of happening, yet they happen only to make some kind of story and the author never cared that it was just a whole load of bullshit. This is the reason I can’t blog too generic shounen, they have such huge crap-load of bullshit in their story that I get mad every time I have to talk about it.
So now that I can’t talk about this show’s story anymore without ranting and now that I lost most of my interest for the show because I was expecting more horror/mystery, I feel like this one won’t be on my blog list any longer. I’m not trying to say that Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge is a bad show, I’m just trying to say that it is not a great one. We have a lot of incredible show this season and they deserve my attention much more than this.
Let me talk a bit about this episode I guess and why I found it a bit disappointing. First of all the enemy was absolute plain and boring, we didn’t even managed to get his intention or his background, he was just “that guy with the sledgehammer”, no back story on either him or his weapon, or at least barely. Even when he actually arrived to Iwai he looked just like a maniac with no purpose what so ever. The guy didn’t looked human, he didn’t kill the queen when he got the chance and he sure loved to take his sweet time going through the house. I love how they managed to have a calm conversation on the phone while someone was going at them with a sledgehammer, I think that really was the point in the episode when I stopped caring for the show at all.
So I won’t be blogging this show anymore, I’ll still be watching it though. Just don’t watch Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge to become anything more than something ordinary and you should be able to enjoy it just fine.
