I never expected to get this much excitement and new information in a beach episode. This episode clearly was the equivalent of a beach episode, after all we did see 3 times more cleavage than what we saw in every single other episode combined. There might not have been a beach, but a pool infested by crocodile works I guess.
This episode Maou was a badass in so many different ways, he handled his job perfectly, slowly gaining in ranks and favor in the McRonald industry, furthermore he even helped out everyone at the theme park by subduing the crocodile and having them joins him as his loyal minion, or at least that was my interpretation of the event as it was difficult to tell what was going on exactly. The only thing I can say with certainty is that the crocodile were all rallied under his spell and they looked at him as if he was a god. For all I know the guy is secretly creating an army out of crocodile and it is all part of his master plan to conquer the earth.
I mean he was transferred because he was such a stellar employee, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the guy got permission to keep a few pets in the backstore. I mean who would even notice the few crocodile among the ton of frozen burger, right? Next time maybe he’ll get transferred where there are elephants, I just love the idea of an elephant army conquering the world slowly, but I feel like I’m slowly turning away from the subject at hand here.
I think that the main “surprise” of the episode was to clearly see that the Sentucky manager was in fact Emilia’s previous aggressor. I mean it really wasn’t any surprise and it was clear since the first time we saw him appear, but it remains that at least now it is confirmed. The one thing we didn’t knew of and that we learnt this episode is that the guy is an angel. Now this makes it interesting because it would be the first real angel in the show, since Emilia is only half-angel. We know very little about angel, where they come from, what their purpose are and what they can do, so it would be interesting to learn more about their mythical appearance and to understand just what they are capable of.
Considering that there is only a handful of episodes left to the show it can be easily deducted that the guy is the “main” enemy and that he’ll be the one final challenger to disrupt the peace until the end of the season. It is already quite clear from the way things are going that there won’t be any sense of finality to Hataraku Maou-sama, you can already smell the open or at least loose ending. I don’t think there is nearly enough progress that has been made in the show for any major conclusion to be made. It’s a bit of a bummer, since I don’t think the show warrants a second season.
