This is the final episode of Hataraku Maou-sama, the show wasn’t anything great and it really had nothing special going for it in the end. There are 3 kinds of shows, the good, the bad and those no one remember a year later. Hataraku Maou-sama definitively is part of the third group. I don’t see myself recommending or watching this show ever again, even this final episode was more than disappointing.
It isn’t that the final episode wasn’t funny or entertaining, but it was simply in no way what so ever an actual conclusion to anything. This episode could have happened halfway through or at the very beginning and nothing would have been any different. This show obviously (and hopefully) won’t get a second season, the anime also gave such a weak impression that I doubt anyone would be able to read the manga even if the manga happens to be a lot better than the anime. I just feel like the show really fails at going anymore and having any purpose what so ever.
I could understand if someone liked the show, it ain’t bad, but this show won’t make any list. I could have watch any other generic comedy and ended up with the same impression as I have now, none.
Now, if I am to disregard the fact that this was supposed to be some kind of conclusion and final episode, the episode was actually pretty good. It had great humour, interaction between the characters and character and story development. There were a lot of episode previously where the development of the story was completely nonexistent, the romance story keeps getting touched on, but in the end it never went anywhere. I probably could have enjoyed the show a lot more if I knew that eventually it would go somewhere, but only after the 3rd episode it was clear that the show never intended to climb in awesomeness and that instead it would remain ordinary.
The one thing which completely pissed me off was how the angel managed to somehow stay on earth even after being beaten to a pulp. GET RID OF THE ENEMIES! It seems like every single enemy stay in the story somehow, they never truly disappear and they never completely lost. Maou defeated just about everyone with earth shattering punch and yet they are still quite intact and still in high spirit. It just seems like no matter how hard Maou punch them he is stuck with them later on either way. That guy should have just been sent back to Ente Isla and be made prisoner or what ever over there. Not come back as a perverted manager of Sentucky. It is even worse because it feels like he is now introduced into the crew…on the final episode of the show.
I won’t make an Overall Review for this show as I judge it is not worth it, not good enough to compliment and not bad enough to critic. Instead I’ll just say that I give this show 7 on 10. If you have exhausted any other possible way to entertain yourself, you can watch this and still pass time, but don’t expect any great memories.
