This show is turning farther away from a comedy at each passing episodes. I was really expecting this show to be a lot more about satire than it showed to be. Things are quickly turning into a supernatural-fantasy shounen more than anything else. This episodes features about 5 times more tears than laughter and I have a feeling that the more things keep doing the worse it will be. I mean we are only at the 4th episode and there are already 3 more characters entering Japan to make even more trouble to the human world.
Turns out that Lucifer was the one trying to take over Satan from the very beginning. I was kind of surprised as I thought from what I heard from the first episode that Lucifer died to the Hero. I was not expecting for any of the other general to show up in this show ever again. I wonder if I simply misunderstood who was alive and who died or if there will be some kind of explication given in the future. I can’t say that I’m really surprised to see Lucifer wanted to take over the control of the demon realm now that I know he is alive. He has the perfect opportunity to do so now that Satan is completely powerless in the human world. I’m just a bit uncertain as to why Lucifer would want to exile himself on the human world to kill Satan now that the entire demonic army has been defeated by the hero. There just doesn’t seem to be much reason for anyone to fight over a non-existing territory.
Meanwhile I was really really disappointed in Satan’s answer as to why he is now much kinder than he was when he was a demon. His explanation that “He just didn’t understand people as much” sound so pathetic that I just don’t want to believe in that answer and I’ll just continue to hope that there is a much better reason than that, otherwise this show will lose most of my interest. After all it is weird that the demon who should be conquering the world is now busy making burgers and helping little school girl and making sure they won’t cry.
Two last interesting things we learned this episode is that the Hero is actually half angel – half human. I was not expecting for something like this and I guess it goes to explain why she was able to fight against the demons so well to begin with. While she is fighting for humanity she is less of a human than everyone she is fighting for. Meanwhile the other surprised this episode was by far the landlady who proves to know a whole lot about Satan and his world. I think there is much more than meets the eyes with this lady and I’d be surprised to learn more about where she came from and what her intentions could be.
