I’m always confused to think if this show is really interesting and has a cool story to complement his humour or if the show really is just an empty comedy. It just seems really difficult for me to have something to say about it because of how fun and yet plain it is. From the look of it, it seems like the crew will just keep expanding until there is truly no place left in the small 6-mat demonic Stronghold. It is already quite fishy that 3 dudes lives in such a small confined space, it is really lucky that Maou now managed to get a promotion because with the other two lazy as who don’t work it would become impossible to pay the bills.
I mean I understand that it is important for them to actually research how to replenish their power, since with power they could manage much better than when they work at MgRonald, but at the same time it could be a good option for them to have at least 2 people work while the last one focus on research, since after all they already know that they can go to Turkey or Egypt or England to replenish their power, now they only need the money and they could do so right away. I feel like their strategy might not be the best there is right now.
Meanwhile they spent a lot of time and effort just to recover a gaming console. I absolutely loved the plot twist of the episode and found it hilarious. I’m still not sure though if I found the actual twist funnier, or the fact that the gaming console was named the Pasta. It just sounds hilarious that they spend the whole episode trying to look for pasta and bring it back home. It is also quite ironic that Lucifer stated earlier in the episode that he couldn’t eat a PC and later on he asks for them to return his gaming console…which is called pasta, which are usually eaten.
Meanwhile the other center of the episode was spent on Ente Isla where all the corruption was exposed and the difficulty of a political system surrounded around deity and church. There is something quite different between an angel and a bishop, the bishop is still human, greedy and bald. You can’t make a saint of a man, everyone will have their vice and personality problem. Even the people who give to others and seems so good have their problems and down and they too can cause chaos and lie. Humans are always looking for people better and greater than themselves, sometimes they seem to forget that in the end we are all as pitiful as the people next to us, the only difference is that some people hide it better than others.
I’m not as excited with Hataraku Maou-sama! as I used to be, but the show ain’t bad either, it just isn’t as stellar and funny as I hoped it to be. Hopefully the comedy factor will be increased one notch soon enough.
