Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu kana dies

This was a solid episode, I did not expect for so much to happen in a single episode yet we’ve had our share of development in so many areas. We got to track down on the political involvement of the parasites some more, we’ve learned of the investigation team suspicion around Shinichi, we had a conclusion with Kana and we got some sweet inner dilemma with Shinichi. I want to start with Kana though since she was at the center of this episode.

Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu engagement hair

Dear Kana-chan, you were so stupid and delusional, I really can’t say it came as a surprise to see you go like this. I am actually happy you died this episode and it didn’t take a bit more time before seeing you go. That girl had entertaining dreams, but she was such a huge stalker and a creep. I understand love is something mind blowing, especially for a young impressionable girl in her teen like her, still, maybe if she actually cared for the guy she would have listened to him. Instead of putting herself into danger and walking around with his hair on her finger as an engagement ring, she could have used her brain a little more. At the end of the day, I don’t think Shinichi should blame himself for her death, the guy did everything in his power to protect her and she is the one who never took his advice seriously in the first place. I would understand if Shinichi was sad he couldn’t save her, but she was already dead in my book with the way she acted, the girl was doomed to die.

Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu no sympathy

Because of her death Shinichi begins to understand he is slowly using his “humanity”. Although I find him to actually become more interesting and powerful, he sees his calm mind and inability to cry as him weakening and becoming alien. It is true that Shinichi doesn’t seem able to shed tears anymore. He seems to feel his heart ache and feel the emotions inside of him manifest sometimes, yet he is unable to let them out by crying or feeling sad. The guy still experiences guilt, he still experiences doubt, he still experiences rage, so I can’t say he is an emotionless monster, he simply doesn’t cry anymore, he is too calm and logical now to do so.

Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu red blood still

This might make him stand off more, but it also gives him greater composure to avoid revealing his true identity. It appears some people are beginning to figure out that a lot of parasite were found dead around him. It was only a question of time before people began suspecting him and now, despite him not noticing, people have an eye on him. Everyone is realizing he is not normal, they simply can’t prove he isn’t human. At this point Shinichi is one faux-pas away from turning both Parasites and Humans against him, he might become lonelier than ever if he doesn’t find some allies to believe him along the way. It might be time for him and Migi to decide who they will trust, although Migi might have some problem with that.
