Sooo, there’s one more episode now, one final episode. What is it even going to be about? This felt like a conclusion to most of the conflict, just about everything has been resolved. All parasites might not be dead, Shinichi is still part parasite, but overall, Shinichi doesn’t have any real threat anymore. Hell, Migi might even start letting him select few people that he exists. I feel like most of the show is done now, is the last episode going to be simply a calm conclusion? Or is it going to be some kind of really rapid telling of everything Shinichi does in individual situation to close up every story point?
It seems obvious at this point what Shinichi decided would be his philosophy for the future. When we began the show in episode 1, The little guy wanted to be a hero of justice. He wanted to be someone to protect the weak and make the world a just place. Look at him now, reality has hit him hard, turns out that justice isn’t what it claims to be, suddenly helping and saving means killing others. Shinichi didn’t want to kill Gotou, Shinichi doesn’t want to kill and decide who gets to live or die. Yet he finally understood one thing, he certainly doesn’t want to die or see someone he loves die either. All he want is a peaceful life and to protect those close to him. The boy is so young, yet he saw so many people he cared about die. And for what? Only because he wanted to save everyone? At some point in your life you realize that 1 person close to you is worth at least a couple dozen of people you don’t know…if not more.
Look how Shinichi acted now that Migi was gone. He wanted to essentially throw away his life for no reason. He became numb to everything, he wanted to join the part of him that left. I must admit I still don’t fully understand what happened with Migi, I knew that some part of him were still inside of Shinichi, although in very small number. The way I understand what happened, when he was rotting away, Migi incorporated himself inside of Gotou, became a sleeping cell mindlessly under his control. Now though, Shinichi poisoned Gotou and every single cell in his body wanted to flee, Migi’s cell went from wherever they were from Gotou’s body, and when the blade was about to hit, he transferred to Shinichi once again. It was a rather unexpected outcome, and I’m not sure how I feel about him coming back from the dead like that, but in a way it is very good to see him back. He does feel slightly different though. His existence inside a new organism seem to have influenced the way he thinks, never before you would have expected for Migi to take into consideration the life of a fellow parasite.
It is so sad and fun to see this show come to an end. I wish there was so much more, but at the same time I’m happy that everything feel so final and complete, I’m happy that so far for a duration of 23 episodes, I was not disappointed and loved this show from beginning to (nearly) end. Now I just want the last episode to be perfect and remember Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu with fond memories from now on.
