This show explicitly says that it was made for a target audience of 8 to 12 year old boy. I have more than double the age of the target audience, so it is rather normal if my review of the show is rather biased and doesn’t do justice to it.
First of, I must say it is really weird to have the character of Marvel portrayed in an anime style…especially in such a poorly done anime style. I felt like I died a little when we first saw Pepper, she is such a pretty lady and a wonderful nerd in every other show and yet she looked like shit in the show…and don’t get me started on the Hulk ! The guy looks like a fat sumo who fell into green paint. I just feel like it is sad that a Marvel show had to be adapted into anime style in what I could consider the lamest and most Americanized anime I’ve seen in a while.
That being said, I think this show looks fun enough for kids, I’m sure they will love it, if they don’t get extremely bothered by the really young and unpolished look of the character that is. The show really wasn’t that bad for a kid show story wise. but I really wish this was done in the USA instead of in Japan, either that or with a better production company that wouldn’t fuck up the character design that much. I understand that Japanese don’t understand the point in aging as they seem to never age themselves, but having all the avenger look like 12 years old is a bit disturbing and I’m pretty sure it would be even for the children watching the show.
If you are a fan of marvel or kid show, this is probably a really good watch for you, the show looks entertaining and past the character design, everything else looks like an epic and well done show for a younger audience. I won’t be watching it, but this isn’t bad for its target audience.
