I’m actually a bit surprised of what I’m about to say, but I really enjoyed this first episode of Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin. After reading the summary for the show I was really uninterested and the comedy/romance genre made me think I was about to watch yet another romantic comedy that takes place in a school with generic character and settings. Yet this is not at all what we got here. Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin was an interesting new spin with a particular genre and more importantly, the characters were actually interesting for once.
Aside from the character, there is a lot of fantasy element to the world, but the rule of that world are not explained that well just yet, I feel like we will learn more and more about it and learn all the excitement of the world. I am actually looking forward to learning more about this universe, I found the concept of the huge school complex stupid at first and unrealistic, but after seeing that this universe had fantasy element to it, I changed my point and view and suddenly everything looks incredibly cool. There is just something awesome about living with the ghost who built everything around you and hid treasure all around for people to find.
If I had to say a word to describe this show, it would definitively be “dream”. This show is all about dreams and how everyone can thrives to be what he wants to be. I’m still uncertain of the future of the show, it could turn into having too many characters which would thin out the story between Nanana and our protagonist, but after just this first episode, Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin is looking like a solid watch for this spring season.
I will not be doing weekly reviews of the show, but I am definitively looking forward to watch more of it and I’m recommending this show for everyone. I feel like the show has a very broad appeal, and that it can be something that just about anyone can enjoy. I give it my seal of hype and approval.
