Seikoku no Dragonar is a show among many other, I have seen many different iteration of this kind of show, but it is the first time I’ve seen one involving dragons. The show is nothing special in reality, I’ve seen the story thousand upon thousand of times. The show will just turn into a fun, but generic story involving lot of boobs and female nudity with some dragon action every episode to spice things up. I have no doubt that a show like this will prove entertaining, it is usually very difficult for a comedy/ecchi to fail, what is required for them to work is just a little mix of fun and action, little bit of silly school comedy and some boobs from time to time. The show will probably quickly develop into a love triangle between the princess, our main character and the dragon-lady. More girl will probably be thrown into the mix shortly afterward.
I think the show looks fine and can probably be fun to watch as some light comedy and fantasy. The ecchi element wasn’t really prevalent this episode, but I’m willing to bet that it will become a more integral part of the show once the new dragon-lady awakens. I can’t say I am particularly interested in Seikoku no Dragonar though. I have watched and reviewed my fair share of traditional ecchi, I don’t feel compelled by the story and characters enough to really get my head around this one. After watching enough of the same formula I just feel I could interchange the name of the princess with about 12 other character who are all exactly the same, the most popular name I could give her is Sena, from Boku wa Tomodachi, and this is only one among many perfectly identical character, from personality, to background, including the look.
I won’t be blogging or watching this show this season, but I do not believe it to be such a bad show, it is simply something rather generic that has been done before, it is now simply in a new setting. If you want a weekly dose of ecchi, this show can probably provide a bit of boobs, but I have a feeling that the ecchi will be created more in events than in visuals.
