I didn’t have much expectation from a card game I had never heard of, My first thought upon seeing Shingeki no Bahamut description was how it would most likely be yet another average shounen with very little original or interesting things to present. Boy was I wrong. While I still don’t know anything about that card game and I’m not interested to learn more about it, this show looks absolutely fantastic. There is such an atmosphere, such quality and meaning in every movement, I have no idea what the universe of this show is like, but I am at least certain that in term of anime it is splendid.
I sensed some kind of an old western feel to this show, despite dealing with dragons and demons and the like, the show was very bright, very cheerful. The story of bounty hunters going from saloon to saloon, drinking their wages away while trying to get around the ladies is one which I associate with the style. I do not expect to see any cowboys here of course, but I already like the feeling the show gives off. It really makes me want to see me and delve into that universe. I cannot say that I can relate to the main character one bit, but he is a cheerful guy and his attitude is without doubt going to lead him into the wildest of adventures. I am actually eager to see what it means to be a demon, what he will find in Helheim, I am genuinely interested in watching the show and going in an adventure with this guy.
Even better, I am a sucker for demons and packs of evil nature, so the succubus who just showed up is even more of an incentive to me. Shingeki no Bahamut is comprised of a nice mix of awesome art, fluid animation, epic battles and cheerfulness. It must be really difficult not to appreciate the show even if it is not especially your genre. Despite all this, I am not yet sure if I will be blogging it. While there is definitively a lot that can be talked about with this show, it is not exactly what I am looking for in anime in general. I will watch the hell of it no matter what, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t know if I would like the show enough to spend the next few weeks discussing it every time it comes out. I will decide next week if I pick this one up or not, but I can assure you that it is a great show and you should watch the first episode, it is definitively worth trying.
