Shingeki no Kyojin episode 6: the world is cruel

Shingeki no Kyojin mikasa change

My god I hate this show. Absolutely hate it. I was already nearly dead this week; the wait for this episode was way too long and yet we still have yet to know if Eren actually survived and how. We were able to see Armin for a brief moment at the start, we were able to go back in time and see Eren again, we were told the fantastically cruel story of Mikasa, but we still don’t know what happened to Eren. I can’t believe that he would die; the story needs him to progress, even if the preview is telling of “news of his death” those are only news from people who don’t know any better. Eren will survive, he MUST !

Shingeki no Kyojin eren is a maniac

The episode itself was a real tear-jerker. I always though that Mikasa was a complete badass and she demonstrated it again when she killed a Titan right before it murdered everyone; she even saved everyone’s life by giving shit to the trader. She is the definition of a hero, she is a fallen angel if I ever saw one. She comes down flying from the sky and while she had the purest of intentions she has now fallen and uses her life to protect the innocent. Never would I have imagined that she had such a troubling past. I mean I figured that her parents were dead since she lived with Eren, but I never imagined that she was the victim of brutal murderers like those ones. Even less that she killed her first man when she was so young.

Shingeki no Kyojin mothers last wish

It is one thing to have your parents killed in front of your eyes and it is something else to actually kill someone intentionally. That girl had it all in a single day and that would have completely destroyed any normal person, but it was already established that Mikasa wasn’t a normal person; nor in strength, nor in mind. She managed to actually fight like Eren told her to and she became what other people would one day refer to either as a prodigy or a monster. There is no other interpretation to the immense strength of body and mind that she is showing and with the event that occurred. I would call her Batman. She is exactly like Batman, but in more awesome even.

Shingeki no Kyojin bad ass Mikasa

Another thing that surprised me this episode is on how bad ass Eren was since the very beginning. I was already so used to seeing him completely overshadowed by Mikasa that to see her being saved by him was really a nice change of scenario. Eren was the same age as she was and yet he had a completely unchildish approach to life. He was able to decide for himself what action to take and he already had quite the drastic approach to life. I have no clue what happened in his childhood for those moralities to show up in him, but his father most definitively has a hand in this.

Armin will become stronger now that he felt so weak, Mikasa might grow weaker or crazy when she learns of Eren’s demise…but now what of Eren? Even the Titan he was eaten by hasn’t be re-spotted yet. I want to know what the hell happened to him dammit! If next week I don’t know, I think I’ll start raging like never before. This show is too efficient in its cliff hangers; there should be laws against such intense dramatic cliff hangers, it is killing me!

Look forward to episode 7. If it contains what I think it does, you’ll probably scream (in a good way), laugh, get even more excited, or do all that at once.

Fair warning: be prepared to have your mind blown. That episode will most likely be where one of the foundations of this series is estabilished.

Looking forward to your reaction next week.
