Did I get stuck in a time machine and went back to the early 90’s? because this show sure have looks and atmosphere I had not seen in the past thousand year, or so it felt. I was rather surprised after watching the first few minutes of Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii, I did not expect to see something like this from the description. I was expecting something a little bit more romancy and fantasy-ish than what was presented. If anything this show sound like some kind of Disney princess movie more than anything else, it feels rather weird to see this kind of story from an anime.
I don’t think the show is bad by itself, there seem to be some interesting story in the show, the characters all look able to develop and they all have personalities that one can learn to love. I must say that I am even interested in the story here, but the show is obviously, definitively aimed at kids. The show is really childish, it has a princess, two stupid villains Pokemon style and the whole story is really exciting if you are 8 year old, but it is not something someone a bit older can really watch seriously and fully enjoy. The interaction between the characters and the whole struggle at work here is not serious enough to be taken seriously.
I’m must say that this show looks extremely interesting for young boys and girls, it has a good art for a kid show, a good story and I’m sure they can easily go for season after season of the show, just how Studio Pierrot love to do things. I really don’t have much to discuss about Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii, I am simply not the audience intended for the show and it is difficult for me to provide interest in a show which I found made no sense and couldn’t watch seriously.
I won’t be watching or blogging this show, if you have a young heart I am sure you will be able to watch and enjoy this show, it looks really warm and fun, but my cold and cruel heart doesn’t like the empty warmth of a childish story.
