This Week Anime
Akagami no Shirayukihime:
This anime is a cute romance, called snow white with the red hair. It is very cute romance story, something really traditional and western in its telling. The show reminds me a lot of the kind of stories american princess cartoon used to have, in particular this reminds me of the french-canadian cartoon, Princess Sissi, feel free to look it up.
Akagami no Shirayukihime is the story of a charming prince who finds a beautiful girl and they both fall in love. I am a guy, I’m most likely not the target audience for this anime, but I can acknowledge this was a really good show and it makes me want to watch more despise not really liking the genre. I’d recommend it to all fantasy/romance enthusiast and you girl who enjoy their prince charming stories.
Jitsu wa Watashi wa :
We have a boy who is unable to lie and a girl with a terrible secret that must never get out. The two of them meet and there you have Jitsu wa Watashi wa! The premise is very simple, the show is light and fun, things definitively seem to be turning towards the harem setting, but the comedy is the primary factor in the show. When you think of light summer comedy, this is exactly what this show is about, it is the embodiment of what summer show can be imagined to be. I would recommend the show for people looking for something light, it is definitively something very easy to miss if you don’t have the time or the interest in the show, it is not a heavy hitter in any way. I might watch it for pure entertainment and then eventually forget it exists.
Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki :
The story of a young prince who needs to save his country from the current war that has befall upon it…Chaos Dragon! I felt so distant while watching the first episode of Chaos Dragon, the episode was nebulous and the characters are all too young, it makes it difficult to care for them and take the show seriously. For a show that roots itself in war, everyone seem too happy and relaxed and the music and character all felt really flat. Too much childish stuff, couldn’t get into it, it would probably be an awesome anime for kids though. I’d have to pass on this one though, it did not catch my interest at all.
Joukamachi no Dandelion :
Joukamachi no Dandelion is the reality tv show of anime. We follow a family of prince and princess with super powers that tries to gain enough popularity to win the next election for the next king or queen. The show itself is fine, there are decent characters with an idea original enough to warrant this anime existing. The art is looking good and the pacing works fine too, its just not really my cup of tea though. The show is aimed towards girls a lot and it turns me off significantly. A good show for some, but I won’t watch it.
Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou :
This anime is set in a universe where monsters have now been recognized as existing and they sometimes join human societies as part of exchange problems. I young man gets his own monster girl to come live with him as he show her how humanity works. In reality, this show is just straight up porn, really weird porn for a very specific kind of fetish, but I’m into it somehow.
I don’t know if it is because the show features monster girls instead of real one, but they sure can get away with a lot more in this show than in other kind of ecchi. No censorship, we actually see breast, we even see what might be a monster vagina…although I’m not so clear what a monster vagina should look like in the first place.
The show is actually pretty funny and even if you aren’t there for the ecchi there is still value to be had. The main attraction here is the ecchi though and since I’m a deprived individual I will most certainly be watching this show avidly. I won’t be covering it since I can’t see myself explaining to my poor mother how I got there in life, but I will secretly enjoy every last minute of this show. Recommended to all the horny and the depraved.
OverLord : Read our review, OverLord is a show of a guy who get stuck in a video game world, how original.
Sore ga Seiyuu! :
I will keep this one short, The show focus on a young upcoming voice actress that wants to make it into the anime world. Unfortunately, the show really sucks, the art is subpar, the presentation is childish and while there is some depth to it, there is no reason to watch this show, there are way better anime explaining the process of creating anime, don’t waste your time on this one. Not recommended.
Gakkou Gurashi! :
Here’s a school life show about nothing! You know you are not going to like a show when the title of the show represents everything you hate about anime. They should have just added Moe somewhere in the title and this would have been the fated anime created to represent everything I think is wrong with the industry. I don’t get school life anime or cute girl stuff and this is exactly that. I don’t understand any of this, too much smiling, too much happiness, nothing ever happening…get me out of here!
Prison School :Read our review, Prison School is a ecchi, but one unlike the others, it is a high comedy show with a most interesting art style, would highly recommend watching the first episode.
God Eater : Read our review, God Eater is an epic story of human survival, not unlike Shingeki no Kyojin, but with its own twist.
This was our second and main week for the new arrivals, I have not counted properly, but this should be most of the anime for this summer. If there are any more to come they will be featured in Volume 3.
