This show sure love the cruel cliffhangers. Revealing to the world the secret of immortality of the pilot is something I wouldn’t have expected the Magius to do anytime soon. I previously stated that I doubted that the show could possibly end at the end of this season, but with the way things are now it seems rather impossible to have the show last that much longer. I would have never expected the Magius to play such a risky game to beat the childrens. Yes they have a winning hand right now but turning the world against the children and the children against one another, but they are always revealing a lot of secret that they should have kept hidden. Now their own identity is much closer to being revealed than it used to be. The use of Saki as an example is a double-edge sword that I expect will turn against them in a matter of 1 or 2 episodes. If the show is to end in the next 4 episodes, I can already see how things will happen.
I’ve watched Code Geass countless times and Kakumeiki Valvrave follows a really similar pattern in term of story development. Next episode will be the part where the whole world turns against our hero, enemies and friend alike. The pilots and everyone in the known will be chased down and hunted by everyone and they will have to continue their quest to prove their innocence alone. I can perfectly see Haruto and L-elf reuniting to defeat the Magius and expose the truth. L-elf could hear about Lieselotte dying wish of having the Magius and human co-exist and he could fight to have her dream come true. Then they would create a new and better world for everyone, where human and Magius can coexist together. This would leave the 4 episodes of content left to be enough to conclude the story, albeit a bit abruptly.
The one thing that annoyed me this episode was to realize that Rukino Saki was actually taken prisoner by Dorssia before hand. I don’t understand how that girl managed to screw up so much that she got captured in enemy territory, recognized as a pilot and she was also responsible for revealing the identity of the pilot as non-human. I had great hope in Saki but lately she just seems to be screwing over everyone.
Lastly, I must say that I absolutely admire L-elf’s reaction to his failure. I do believe that while his reaction might seem overdone and inappropriate to some, it is definitively the best way in life to become stronger. He is analyzing everything he did, every possibilities he had and coming to conclusion as to what went wrong and why. Of course this time around he found out there was no possible winning outcome for him, but it was a good lesson for the guy. He finally got to see why emotions and attachment for someone is really bad when you are in life or death situation like these. He will most likely understand Haruto much better from now on. This is assuming he comes out of his trance in the coming episode.
