What kind of lame and weird episode was this. I understand that there was some kind of weird story progression in there, but overall the episode was just a big pile of crap. I mean it felt like some story made just for fanservice purpose more than anything else, there was no emotions and nothing felt real in that episode. Everything was so over the top and surreal that I didn’t even wanted to think this episode was part of the main story and I’d rather see it just as something cannon like a special OVA episode. I really don’t understand why this episode had to take place at any point.
Here are the only things I got from the episode: first, the organization to make Cecil super powerful is run by a bunch of really cunning and planning people and they don’t like it when dumber idiots gets in the way. Second, Moyo happens to be a super powerful and mysterious wizard that is Cecil’s secret guardian in some way. Those two facts total to about 3 minutes in the show, the 20 or so minutes left was just complete bullshit cosplay-super hero-bad character stuff. Any kid taken hostage by 4 psycho with no reason to terrorize people would instantly shit their pants and be concerned about what is going on. I would certainly not just sit peacefully in my corner and talk to my teacher like if nothing happened.
I was confused for the greatest part of the episode to know what was going on here. Not because of the weird way the kidnappers where behaving, but rather because the kids and the character all acted and reacted so oddly. I was unable to take the episode seriously one bit because of how unrealistic everything was. How come did the show and characters felt so real just an episode ago and sudden turned so ridiculous so fast? Wizard Barristers is such a weird show for me, I feel like they try too much to incorporate things from two side of the spectrum. You cannot turn a show about law and magic killing people to some kind of kid show. When you involved law into this you already pushed aside any chances for an innocent magical girl show. Cecil’s innocence in that show should be a crime in and of itself.
The only thing I really found worth talking about this episode is Moyo and her constant appearance to save Cecil from harm. It seems that she is some kind of guardian angel to her in some way. While it was already hinted at that she was more powerful and involved in this story, we still have yet to understand just how involve she really is, but she seems to be rather significantly involved here. She has the power of levitation, of meditation, power to stop time. The list seems to keep getting longer and yet this is not Cecil we are talking about here. I am rather curious to know how much Moyo knows and how powerful she really is in all this.
